“Rich Commentary at Talk Tent” at Queen’s Hall

Paul Keen Douglas’ Talk Tent, the popular post-Carnival presentation, opened on Friday night at Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s with rich social commentary, biting comedy and a bit of nostalgia in honour of the Black Stalin. Talk Tent, which wraps up this evening, takes a swing at everything this year — from the sacking of former Attorney General Anand Ramlogan and the PMN’s internal squabbles (a must-see performance from the Pierrot) to Speaker Mark Wade’s recent error in the House of Representatives.

Though he has apologised, the Speaker’s error continues to haunt him and served as great material for monologues in the Talk Tent — perhaps a canny commentary on his refusal to step down — while the former Attorney General can now count himself among public figures constantly on the receiving end of the classic Talk Tent treatment.
